Writer, photographer, community organizer, sound explorer, and lawyer mulling creativity, knowledge sharing, equity, and technology.

These days my writing is more poetic and freeform, focused on observation and personal archiving; check it out on my Substack. Previously, I worked as a freelance journalist with a focus on music and culture. Bylines at VICE, Noisey, Fanbyte.

My camera is often drawn to dappled light, mystical minutiae, bright smiles, and alleyway oddities throughout the world. In other words: photos of nature and friends and events and cities and whatever else tickles my fancy. I mostly shoot 35mm film but am freshly experimenting with a home studio setup using my digital camera.

In the world of sound, I’m currently learning how to use Ableton, revisiting the piano, rehearsing with a choir, and doing some performance art. Documentation coming soooon.

I’ve been working hard at detangling my digital existence from big tech, moving towards self-hosting and more private and/or ethical options for digital existence. I’m building myself a nice new site (see my recent HTML project) to share my updated work and other fun stuff, aiming for liftoff in Q1 2027.

I’m also Copyright & AI Counsel at Creative Commons, where I’m working on CC Signals: aiming to keep open knowledge and creativity accessible in the age of AI while foregrounding consent, attribution, and reciprocity. See my LinkedIn for more about all that jazz. This website here is all mine and represents my views alone, not of my employer.
